Cosabella and Lou Trends for Fall 2010
Below is my exclusive interview with Frisky and Fluffy (Aicha and Katie) from the Patricia Marquis showroom, expressing trends for Fall 2010 and why Lou is taking America by storm!
Tiger: How would you describe the theme of Cosabella's Fall 2010 Collection?
March 9th 2010 (Miami , FL) - Cosabella revisits the works of photographer David Hamilton as inspiration for the 1970’s vintage feel of their Fall 2010 assortment. The collection expresses the dream like soft focus style while still tapping into the sensual spirit that dominated the 1970’s. A vintage 70’s essence is uncovered in Odile, Alina and Chi Chi. Each group embodying a romantic wistful feeling with the sheer suppleness fabrication.
1970’s animal and wallpaper prints continue the retro sentiment of Fall 2010. Jourdana and Ulrika both in vision the 70’s floral wallpaper color pallet of dusty pink, orange, cream and dark chocolate. Animal prints popularized during the decade shown within the collection include baby leopard in Anouck, sheer leopard in Chi Chi and snow leopard trim in Esmee.
Cosabella’s closing note to their homage to the 1970’s is a colorful assortment of basic groupings; Talco, Aire, Airlace, Laila, Never Say Never and Soire in bright and deep jewel tones of grenadine, bright amethyst, ruby and plum.
Tiger: What is your favorite new piece by Cosabella?
Tiger: Tell me a little bit about what makes Lou of Paris so special.
The brand creates each and every collection with a high sense of a ‘prêt-à-porter’ spirit. This season Lou Paris plays with the natural elements matching together a mineral / vegetal coloroma: slate blue, pearl, Green and silver…some surprising and original colours quite unusual in Lingerie that Lou highlights through the use of a mix of fabrics: leavers lace and knit, silk and velvet, embroidered tulle on a multi-elastic microfiber…
Lou has succeeded in creating a unique style thanks to a prêt-à-porter inspired collection, clean and flat finishes while keeping a real corset-maker know-how that we can easily identify in the already best seller Idole de Lou, a line inspired by a chic hand-made ‘Taylor suit’ all in leavers lace.
The brand also develops a wide range of complementary pieces of lingerie such as bustier, bodysuit, nightdress (Conte d’Automne, Espiègleries, Idole de Lou…) Lou Paris is definitely moving forward to a unique and original style!
Tiger: What is one of the biggest trends this Fall?

Market Part II
While walking around the garment district in downtown Los Angeles you start to notice the small details that let you know you are surrounded by the lingerie world. Peeking out through every crevice possible are the microcosms that bring together fashion as we know it. High rise buildings know the sky is the limit and every floor is packed with showrooms of every brand name known to woman. Just strolling through the streets peering through the windows above you gets you excited when you see a closet staple brand, and they are everywhere. I've never been more pumped to see a SPANX sign in the window! Very cool.
Next we were off to see Wendy Glez, personally one of my favorite lines. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better someone takes the Emeril Lagasse challenge and BAM!!! ...Perfection. That's exactly what happened when we saw the Grecian Nomad group by Wendy (see below). Wendy Glez is a lifestyle, and it's one that we can't wait to live in for this Fall.
Here is a picture of newly engaged Monica from Mode Studio who shows us the Wendy Glez line, along with little knitted booties that Wendy made. So cute!

And after sitting an amazing line, it's time for a break. Here I am (Tiger) with future fashion designer Kitten with frozen yogurt in hand and much more to see.

Just back from LA Market!
All the fall 2010 collections have hit the showrooms and we couldn't be more excited! We took a weekend trip to LA Market and saw some truly amazing lingerie along with some hot trends for the upcoming season. One word... ROMPERS! I am in heaven, I have been waiting for rompers to come back since the day I was born, back in the 80's. Without further hesitation, here are a few of the highlights from our expedition. Enjoy!
Our first stop was to say hello to our honorary house cats Frisky (Aicha) and Fluffy (Katie) who showed us Cosabella and Lou of Paris. Of course we wanted EVERYTHING from Cosabella. Below are some of the new colors for our favorite Never Say Never Thongs fall 2010.
The Irina chemise by Cosabella has to be one of my most favorite things. I waited four loooong months to finally get my hands on one last season and now they have decided to continue with it in solid black and an amazing fuchsia. It has burnout velvet and is probably the softest thing you have ever felt. IN LOVE! Below is the Irina fabric in solid black. Bravo Cosabella!
After drooling over Cosabella for more than an hour, we took a sneak peek at what is in store for Lou of Paris. Lou has been claiming real estate in our store for some time now, but after seeing their Fall 2010 collection, they are about to get their own zip code in our bra land. Let me just say I have never seen embroidery as beautiful as Conte D'Automne (which translates as Autumn Tale and shown below). Mark your calendars, it will arrive in September, and yes I am counting the days!
We were able to snag a photo with everyone all together right before we ran off to our next adventure in lace and silk. From left to right is Cleocatra, Miss Kitty herself, Frisky (Aicha), Fluffy (Katie), and myself Tiger.

Meet Dyson!
Here is Dyson, our fashion police dog at Purrmission. Today when we were on our afternoon stroll through the neighborhood he decided to take a ten minute rest, because being the shop dog is a lot of work, obviously. If you can't match your clothes or your bra doesn't fit, he will certainly tell you, so watch out. We should make him a ticket book, but I guess his barking says enough.
How cute is he?!!!

Passionata FALL 2010 Preview!!!
If you haven't heard about it yet, don't be bashful. Passionata is a romantic and sexy lingerie line that just hit the United States market straight from Paris. Passionata is produced by Chantelle, another one of our personal favorites. We are chomping at the bit to get our little kitty paws on it. We are almost selling out of what we have left of our first Spring delivery so if you're in the area get in here before we sell out!!!

Stocks, Bonds and Relationships
I had an idea the other day while I was thinking about the hot topic of the decade: The Economy. It seems we are all tired of hearing about it, but I just had to indulge myself. Don't let the recession effect your lingerie. If you're trying to save money, bet your britches you'll be staying in more often. If you are lucky in love in co-habitation form then spending all that extra time with one another might sound like a dream to some, or a curse for others. Time spent is what you make of it and why shouldn't that be fun? With a few investments in some simple stock(ing)s and bonds, you'll have an excellent return. Speaking of Bonds, Booty Parlor has some excellent All Tied Up Bondage Tape. Meow!
Here are my top picks for the day... Love them!
~Tiger
