The moment we have been waiting for, Stella McCartney Lingerie  is finally introduced to our bra wall at Purrmission. Our first style is available up to 36DD. Quantities are limited and selling out fast, so come in and see what it's all about.

About Stella:
Born and raised in London and the English countryside, Stella McCartney graduated from Central St Martins in 1995. A signature style of sharp tailoring, natural confidence and sexy femininity was immediately apparent in her first collection.

After only two collections, in 1997, she was appointed the Creative Director of Chloe in Paris and enjoyed great success during her tenure.

In 2001, Stella McCartney launched her own fashion house under her name in a joint venture with Gucci Group and showed her first collection in Paris in October 2001. A lifelong vegetarian, Stella McCartney does not use any leather or fur in her designs. Her collections include women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, lingerie, eyewear, fragrance and organic skincare. Her first perfume, “Stella”, launched successfully in September 2003.

Stella McCartney now operates 16 stores, including flagships in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, London’s Mayfair, LA’s West Hollywood and Paris’ Palais Royal, and recently opened doors in Milan and Beirut. Her collections are now distributed in over 50 countries through 600 wholesale accounts including specialty shops and department stores.

In November 2005, the hugely successful one-off collection “Stella McCartney for H&M” sold out worldwide in record time. In 2007, Stella McCartney unveiled CARE by Stella McCartney, a luxury organic skincare line. In 2008, a new lingerie line was launched. Most recently, in November 2009, Stella McCartney collaborated with the Gap on a kids and baby collection which has been extended into a second season which launched in March 2010.

The following awards have recognized Stella McCartney’s achievement in fashion and social awareness: VH1/Vogue Fashion and Music 2000 Designer of the Year Award (2000, NY), the Woman of Courage Award for work against cancer at the prestigious Unforgettable Evening event (2003, LA), the Glamour Award for Best Designer of the Year (2004, London), the Star Honoree at the Fashion Group International Night of the Stars (2004, NY), the Organic Style Woman of the Year Award (2005, NY), the Elle Style Award for Best Designer of the Year Award (2007, London), Best Designer of The Year at the British Style Awards (2007, London), Best Designer of The Year at the Spanish Elle Awards (2008, Barcelona), the Green Designer of the Year at the ACE Awards (2008, NY) and in 2009 she was honoured by the NRDC, featured in the Time 100 and recognized as a Glamour magazine Woman of the Year.

Our trip to Vegas

We recently went to Vegas to one of the biggest lingerie trade shows to view the new merchandise available for Spring/ Summer 2011. We saw new and amazing sexy pieces from the brands you know from Purrmission including Cosabella, Chantelle, Passionata, Samantha Chang, Wendy Glez, Simone Perele, Prima Donna, Marie Jo, Eberyjey and more. We also saw a few brands that are due to make their debut this Fall. La Perla and Stella McCartney are two lines we are very excited to announce. Be on the look out for hen we announce their arrival dates!

We met with Samantha Chang and she personally showed us her exciting new prints and silk creations. One of our favorite pieces was a sheer black silk robe and her hand painted silk kimono robes (seen below). Both of which you will find in Purrmission at holiday time.

Fashion Show Success!

What an amazing event we had! Our sparkly black runway was an amazing stage to host our annual Fall Preview. We had advance merchandise from our best vendors including Chantelle, Cosabella, Passionata, Prima Donna, Marie Jo, Le Mystere, Lou, Conturelle, Samantha Chang, Stella McCartney and Ricky Lizalde. We are so excited to finally start getting our deliveries, as a matter of fact we just received our first Fall set of season, Passionata Bloom (which coincidentally was used to open the fashion show).

Just a thought -

I was watching the 2005 movie make of "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" last night, completely forgetting that Zooey Deschanel was one of the main actresses. She is on my list of top ten favorite things ever. In order to stay true to my core values, I googled!

Give me one good reason why I shouldn't have this recreated and worn to pieces. Save for the fact this makes me drool at the notion of becoming a circus leader, I wish lingerie would return to this.

Memorial Day heralds not only the raising of the flag, but the seasonal return to white and lights.  Light clothing that is.  With sheer fabrics, dresses that are more bare than there and other assorted fashion conundrums, the right under garments become a must. For example we adore the line- up of new BCBG dresses, but if you are going to wear strapless, backless, and downright summer sexy, wear it right! Maximize your image with the proper bra. Andres Sarda Cut Out Bra

While looking at the spectacular Fall Prima Donna and Marie Jo collections, we decided to sneek a peek at what was new with Andres Sarda. We are so intrigued with this high-fashion lingerie line. Andres Sarda takes European couture styling elements and translates it into modern clash of geometric lines and pure sexy. The bra above is from the Fall 2010 collection, and I thought it was just absolutely stunning.

Speaking of new... we had Mr. Uncle Peter come by, one of the unofficial and very high maintenance handy men of Purrmission, to put up some new space for our ever growing bra wall. He did an excellent job! Just when you though things couldn't get any better, you find ways to improve. We love it!!! If you are nearby, come in and see what's new. Cosabella and Lou Trends for Fall 2010

Below is my exclusive interview with Frisky and Fluffy (Aicha and Katie) from the Patricia Marquis showroom, expressing trends for Fall 2010 and why Lou is taking America by storm!

Tiger: How would you describe the theme of Cosabella's Fall 2010 Collection?

Frisky & Fluffy: A sensual 1970's inspired collection sprinkled with jewel tones, animal prints and wallpaper florals

March 9th 2010 (Miami, FL) - Cosabella revisits the works of photographer David Hamilton as inspiration for the 1970’s vintage feel of their Fall 2010 assortment. The collection expresses the dream like soft focus style while still tapping into the sensual spirit that dominated the 1970’s. A vintage 70’s essence is uncovered in Odile, Alina and Chi Chi. Each group embodying a romantic wistful feeling with the sheer suppleness fabrication.

1970’s animal and wallpaper prints continue the retro sentiment of Fall 2010. Jourdana and Ulrika both in vision the 70’s floral wallpaper color pallet of dusty pink, orange, cream and dark chocolate. Animal prints popularized during the decade shown within the collection include baby leopard in Anouck, sheer leopard in Chi Chi and snow leopard trim in Esmee.

Cosabella’s closing note to their homage to the 1970’s is a colorful assortment of basic groupings; Talco, Aire, Airlace, Laila, Never Say Never and Soire in bright and deep jewel tones of grenadine, bright amethyst, ruby and plum.

Tiger: What is your favorite new piece by Cosabella?

Tiger: Tell me a little bit about what makes Lou of Paris so special.

Frisky & Fluffy: Lou Paris proudly revealed its FW10 collection during the Salon International de la Lingerie, from January 23^rd to 25^th  2010, in Paris.

The brand creates each and every collection with a high sense of a ‘prêt-à-porter’ spirit. This season Lou Paris plays with the natural elements matching together a mineral / vegetal coloroma: slate blue, pearl, Green and silver…some surprising and original colours quite unusual in Lingerie that Lou highlights through the use of a mix of fabrics: leavers lace and knit, silk and velvet, embroidered tulle on a multi-elastic microfiber…

Lou has succeeded in creating a unique style thanks to a prêt-à-porter inspired collection, clean and flat finishes while keeping a real corset-maker know-how that we can easily identify in the already best seller Idole de Lou, a line inspired by a chic hand-made ‘Taylor suit’ all in leavers lace.

The brand also develops a wide range of complementary pieces of lingerie such as bustier, bodysuit, nightdress (Conte d’Automne, Espiègleries, Idole de Lou…) Lou Paris is definitely moving forward to a unique and original style!

Tiger: What is one of the biggest trends this Fall?

Market Part II

While walking around the garment district in downtown Los Angeles you start to notice the small details that let you know you are surrounded by the lingerie world. Peeking out through every crevice possible are the microcosms that bring together fashion as we know it.  High rise buildings know the sky is the limit and every floor is packed with showrooms of every brand name known to woman. Just strolling through the streets peering through the windows above you gets you excited when you see a closet staple brand, and they are everywhere. I've never been more pumped to see a SPANX sign in the window! Very cool.

Next we were off to see Wendy Glez, personally one of my favorite lines. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better someone takes the Emeril Lagasse challenge and BAM!!! ...Perfection. That's exactly what happened when we saw the Grecian Nomad group by Wendy (see below). Wendy Glez is a lifestyle, and it's one that we can't wait to live in for this Fall.

Here is a picture of newly engaged Monica from Mode Studio who shows us the Wendy Glez line, along with little knitted booties that Wendy made. So cute!
